Field Day was such a SUCCESS and it was truly because of ALL of our volunteers.  The students had a great time! The laughter, the smiles and the teamwork was infectious and priceless.

Back by popular demand! The annual VDV Vocabulary Parade will be held on Monday, June 16th. Families are invited to attend as students walk the perimeter of the school. The parade will start at 9:15am.

Show us your VDV Spirit and wear your Van Dergear or black & gold...Wednesday, June 18th!

Please keep in mind when visiting Van Derveer or picking up a student for early dismissal...

A valid form of ID will be REQUIRED EVERY TIME you need to enter the building. Visitors are required to wear a visitor's tag at all time while at VDV. NO exceptions will be made.

A valid form of ID will also be REQUIRED EVERY TIME a parent/guardian needs to pick up a child early for any reason. NO exceptions will be made.

The 5th grade Moving Up Ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 18th at 9:15am. If you would like a VDV sibling(s) to attend, please complete the Google Form attached HERE.

If you complete this form, the sibling(s) requested will be in the main lobby by 9am on June 18th.  Please come to the main door to collect this sibling(s) before going to the Gym lobby doors, which is where you will enter VDV to attend the ceremony.

VDV will be closed Thursday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.

June 20th is the last day of school!

PARKS AND POOLS are a great part of Somerville and summer fun! Our parks are wonderful places for parents and children to spend the summer together. The pools are supervised with exceptional staff for your safety and enjoyment.

Use of Somerville pools is FREE to registered residents. Non-residents may purchase a family membership for $50. In both instances, all family members MUST reside at the same address.

New 2025 Digital ID cards will be required for entry. Click here for Registration Form.

Members may also purchase single use guest passes online for $3 per guest.

Forms will not be accepted at the pools.
